Day One - The Championships are Underway!


North Augusta, SC - The 3rd annual National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships began under blue skies and near perfect conditions.  18 teams competed in series of best shot singles.  The lowest three scores from each team were counted.

Following the first day’s competition was the 2nd annual Collegiate Guts championships.  Many teams participated in a single elimination, bracketed tournament.  Augusta State beat Georgia State College and University for the championship.  Congrats Augusta State!

Collegiate Disc Golf National Championship:2009


The NCDGU has been working diligently since the conclusion of last year’s championship. There has been much interest from many new schools from all over the country. We are excited for the continued growth and exposure of collegiate disc golf. There is a flyer posted below this paragraph with information explaining registration, qualifying, etc.

UGA Takes Home 2nd Title


Augusta, SC - UPDATED - The University of Georgia capped off a great weekend of disc golf action with a solid final round to capture the 2008 Collegiate Disc Golf Championships. Challengers from the University of Kentucky, Clemson and Virginia Tech could not touch the lead built by UGA but fought hard none the less. After the final day of play, the final results were:

  • University of Kentucky -26
  • Virginia Tech -24
  • Clemson -24
  • University of Alabama -14
  • Nebraska -10
  • Georgia Southern +5
  • UAB Birmingham +18
  • Georgia College +60
  • East Georgia College +75

2008 College Championships are Underway!


North Augusta, SC - After the first day of play defending Champions from the University of Georgia have taken an early lead. The teams have two rounds under their belt but there’s plenty of golf to play.

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

The format for the first round was an individual round from the red tees. It was J. Winfrey from the University of Kentucky with the hot individual round of 9 under par 45. Following closely behind his heals were a trio of folks at 46. The team’s three best individual scores were counted towards the total. Here’s a glimpse of the hot shooters:

  • J. Winfrey  -  University of Kentucky 45 -9
  • J. Mayor - University of Alabama 46 -8
  • J. Drake - University of Alabama at Birmingham 46 -8
  • D. Lassiter - Virginia Tech 46 -8

DOUBLES RESULTS

The second round was a round of best shot doubles from the red tees. Given this fairly easy setup several teams took advantage and shot some blistering rounds. Leading the back were the University of Georgia and Virginia Tech with scores of 15 under par 39’s. The best team score was accepted and added to the total.
