2010 Championships Have Begun!

The 2010 Collegiate Championships commenced with excitement in the air as 24 teams began the journey toward National Champions.  Three titles are at stake:  National Collegiate Champions (cumulative best team score), Doubles Team Champions (best combined doubles score) and overall Individual Champion (best individual score from 4 rounds of singles).  In addition to these titles, 6 players will be selected as All Americans (top 6 individual scores), and 6 as Second Team All Americans (top 6-12 individual scores).

But this tournament is more than competition.  The Championships present an opportunity for students to take a break from their busy schedules and relax.  Camaraderie amongst players is high as new friends are made from various points across the country.  Touring Pros and World Champions were in attendance adding to the significance of this event.  Ken Climo, Dave Feldberg, Cam Todd and Barry Schultz were all here on Thursday consueling student athletes and partaking in the festivities.

Tournament Update - 03.31.10

  • There are 26 teams registered for the Championship Division.

2010 NCDGC list of Teams

  •  Team Village Area

Teams are encouraged to bring 1 or 2 pop-up tents, folding chairs, team banners, etc. to setup in the village to show school spirit, provide a place for between-round rest, and a place for your guests to watch the tournament.

  • First Flight Division

Any schools wishing to compete in the First Flight Team competition must declare the 4 individuals per team before competition. Any individuals can compete in the singles portion of the First Flight division, so, schools with extra players that cannot make up a full team may enter those individuals in the First Flight competition. (i.e., if a school has 10 players wanting to travel, they would select 4 for their Championship team, 4 for their First Flight team, and the other two would be entered in the First Flight singles competition.)
